Chiky Luna
A California native, Chiky was born in Los Angeles, Calif. but moved to San Diego soon after where his soccer career began at a young age. He grew up playing for the San Diego Nomads Club, winning three National Championships at the Youth Club level. Before graduating in 1997 from Vista High School, Chiky earned CIF Player of the Year for his performance on the soccer field. He was granted a scholarship to play soccer for four years at the University of Portland which he carried out and graduated with a degree in Communications and Spanish.
Leaving Portland after college, Chicky returned to San Diego to play professionally for the San Diego Flash in 2001. Playing midfielder from 2005- 2008 for San Diego Fusion, he was honored as the league’s MVP in 2006 for the NPSL. Chiky will continue his professional indoor soccer career with the San Diego Sockers upon their return to the Del Mar Arena.
