Anthony Medina

Living in San Diego his entire life, Anthony has gone full-circle with the San Diego Sockers. At a young age, he played for the Jr. Sockers, competing in national tournaments in Oklahoma and Mexico City and will now join the professional team for its first season since 2006. In addition to his time with the Jr. Sockers, Anthony played youth soccer for Hotspurs Soccer Club before attending Valhalla High School where he earned the honor of League MVP for soccer.  A soccer scholarship to the University of San Francisco led Anthony to receive Team MVP, All WCC Selection, and WCC Academic Team. While attending The University, he spent the summer of his junior year playing for Des Moines Menace in the PDL before obtaining a degree in business administration in 2002.

After College, Anthony was invited to attend San Jose Earthquakes pre-season and later signed with Syracuse Salty Dogs of the A-League in 2003. When he is not on the soccer field, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family and friends at the Bahia, also known as “San Diego’s Italian Riviera”, as well as travelling, golfing and volunteering for the YMCA Youth and Family Services.
