Charity Golf Classic To Benefit Two Kid Charities

The 16-time champion San Diego Sockers announced today that the team will hold its annual Charity Golf Classic on Friday, December 2, 2022, with a 9:00am shotgun start at the Mt. Woodson Golf Course. The fourth edition of the event will benefit our non-profit partners Rally4Reilly & Friends and Oncology & Kids.

Tournament participants will enjoy a day of golf, fun, food, festivities, and interaction with the players. Check-in for the best- ball scramble format tournament is 7:30am. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. {layers will be given a gift, swag bag,  and a pair of Sockers tickets. Califino Tequila and other beverage companies will be on the course to provide tastings.

Registration is now open at www.SDSockers.com/golf. The tournament fee is $700/Foursome, $400/Twosome, or $200/Individual Golfer.

"We started this tournament because being active in the community is very important to the organization and this is a tremendous and fun way to give back to local non-profits," said Sockers General Manager Sean Bowers. "Being able to provide needed funds to programs that support children, makes this event even more special."

This year, we will be playing from the blue tees, but you can donate an extra $200 to have your foursome play from the traditional white tees (add on the registration form). You can also bid to have a Sockers player play with your foursome as a fifth golfer. We are also introducing the Golf Pong Chip-In Challenge, which is replacing the putting contest before the tournament begins. Join us for this special event to help our community.

ABOUT RALLY4REILLY & FRIENDS - We foster comfort and support while offering resources and financial assistance to individuals and families in San Diego County who are affected by spinal cord injuries through our Rally 4 Reilly & Friends Wellness Grants. Did you know that families can expect to spend $1,000,000 in the first year following a spinal cord injury (depending on the level of injury) and $2500+ per month for basic daily medical and hygiene supplies? This is more than many earn in a month and these figures do not include food, shelter, transportation, or care services!

ABOUT ONCOLOGY AND KIDS  - For children with cancer and their families who need to recover from the emotional toll of diagnoses and treatment, OAK is the childhood oncology organization that provides a voice, community, and sense of normalcy because together we can truly heal. We exist to help kids and families heal the emotional scars of childhood cancer and learn to thrive. We provide safe spaces for children affected by cancer and their families to create lasting memories, forge lifelong friendships, and build the resiliency they need to heal.
