Empire Jets Down Sockers2 5-2 In Tuesday Matinee


The San Diego Sockers2 dropped to 0-2 on the season after a 5-2 loss to the Empire Jets (2-0) at Toyota Arena in Ontario on Tuesday afternoon. The Jets tallied three times in the third period to ease to the win. Mostapha Gueye scored twice to lead the Empire attack.

San Diego fell behind early, however, Brian Farber equalize midway through the first quarter. It was Farber's first appearance with the Sockers2 this season. After a scoreless second period, the Jets found the back of the net three times to extend their lead. San Diego got a sixth-attacker goal from Juan Gonzalez to complete the scoring in the matinee contest.

Sockers2 goalkeeper Xavier Snaer-Williams played the entire match and took the loss. 

San Diego returns home to face the Turlock Express on Sunday, January 7, 12:00pm at Pechanga Arena. Supporters can attend the game for free and enjoy free parking. Fans will be escorted into the arena at two times - 11:30am and 12:00pm. The gates will close at 12:00pm.
