GK Chris Toth Named MASL Player of the Week 13

MASL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WEEK THIRTEEN

KANSAS CITY (Jan 26, 2017) – The Major Arena Soccer League announced today that San Diego Sockers goalkeeper Chris Toth is the Week Thirteen Player of the Week. Toth has earned a spot on the MASL’s Team of the Week three times this season and this is his first Player of the Week honor.

Toth earned the honor by accomplishing something that no other team has been able to do this season, shutting down the high-powered Soles de Sonora offense. The veteran goalkeeper faced 31 shots throughout the night, but didn’t allow a single one past him until the final five minutes of the game. He only allowed two goals on the night total.

The win was vitally important for San Diego as they are in a heated battle for the top of the Pacific Division table with the Tacoma Stars. The Sockers are idle this weekend, but they travel to face the Stars next Friday, February 4th at 10:35 p.m. ET.

Fans can find all the latest news, scores and information about the MASL at the league’s new website, MASLSoccer.com.
