MASL Announce Referee Awards

The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) is proud to announce this season’s MASL Referee Awards, shining a spotlight on two individuals whose performances stood out for their professionalism and consistency.

Rich Grady was honored with the Gino D’Ippolito Award, a recognition given to the league’s top referee. Named after one of indoor soccer’s most respected officiating figures, the award reflects not only technical ability but also leadership, composure, and respect for the game. This award is voted on annually by the member teams, league staff, broadcasters, and fellow referees.

“Rich brings veteran experience, impeccable integrity, and professional presence to every game,” commented Ryan Cigich, MASL head of referees. “He has an unmatched control over even the toughest games.”

David Bosak is awarded the Ron Cory Newcomer of the Year award, an acknowledgment of his impressive debut season in the MASL. Stepping into a fast-paced and demanding environment, Bosak quickly adapted to the professional level, demonstrating sharp judgment and a strong understanding of the indoor game.

“Though early in his career, David already shows excellent knowledge of the indoor game, and with development and experience, he will be a stand-out referee in the MASL,” added Cigich.

“Together, these awards highlight the depth of officiating talent within the MASL. Veterans like Grady continue to elevate the standard, while newcomers like Bosek signal a bright future for the league,” said MASL Commissioner Keith Tozer. “As the MASL grows, the role of referees remains central—and this year’s honorees exemplify the excellence required to keep the game at its best.”
