Pardo Excels In 4-2 Win Over Ontario

Goalkeeper Boris Pardo made 16 saves and four different players scored to pace the San Diego Sockers to a 4-2 win over division rival Ontario at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Thursday night.

In a battle between the last season's top two goalkeepers, Pardo made several key saves in critical moments to keep the high-powered Fury offense in check for the first 57 minutes of the game. Former Sockers keeper Chris Toth kept Ontario in the game by making 14 saves, but a balanced scoring attack led San Diego to the victory.

Travis Pittman and Christian Segura tallied their first goals in a Sockers uniform to give San Diego a 2-0 lead early in the third period. Kraig Chiles, who earlier earned his 150th career assist, stretched the lead to 3-0 with a goal at 10:14. Brandon Escoto finished the scoring with a marker at 3:54 of the final stanza. Ontario scored two sixth-attacker goals by Francisco Cordeiro and Adrien Perez. San Diego's defense shut down Perez who entered the contest averaging five points per game.
