Sockers Derail Express For Tenth Straight Victory

Brandon Escoto and Christian Segura scored two goals each and eight other Sockers tallied to lead San Diego to a 12-1 victory over the Turlock Express on Friday night. San Diego has won ten straight matches to improve to 12-1 on the season.  

San Diego used a balanced offensive attack to score 11 unanswered goals before Turlock found the back of the net midway through the fourth quarter. Leo De Oliveira (1-1=2) opened the scoring only 50 seconds into the contest to extend his point streak to six games. Following his goal, seven different Sockers scored before Segura (2-0=2) got his second of the night at 13:49 of the third period. Escoto (2-0=2), who leads the team in scoring with 27 points, increased his goal streak to five games with his two markers. Felipe Gonzalez (2-1=3) led the way with three points, while Eddie Velez (1-1=2), Travis Pittman (1-1=2), Luis Ortega (1-1=2), Juan Gonzalez (1-1=2), Christian Gutierrez (1-0=1), and Raymundo Reza (1-0=1) each added a goal.

Goalkeeper Boris Pardo, who made his 13th consecutive start, played the first 25 minutes and earned his 12th win of the season. Newly acquired Jesus "Chuy" Molina made his debut allowing only one goal in 35 minutes of action.
