Sockers Extend Luis "Pee Wee" Ortega's Contract

The Sockers announced a contract extension for talented midfielder Luis “Pee Wee” Ortega. Per league and team policies, details of the agreement were not released. The transaction was third for the team in four days. The Sockers signed a free agent on Monday and Tuesday.

Ortega, who was limited by a knee injury last season, played in only ten games and contributed five assists. In his seven-year career, he has scored 43 goals and 54 assists for a total of 97 points. He began his career in 2012 with the PASL Chicago Mustangs and also played for the Rockford Rampage in the MASL.

Sockers General Manager Sean Bowers said, “We did not get to see the real “Pee Wee” last season as he was hampered.by a knee injury. We know that he will be ready to return to form next season and provide our team a boost to the offense and fans with excitement.”

The Sockers return to MASL play in December 2018 with a 24-game regular season schedule and 12 home games at Valley View Casino Center. Supporter Season Memberships for the 2018-19 campaign are now on sale at Sockers.com/Membership.
