The Sockers stopped the Fury’s road win streak at 5 and claimed the first victory of the MASL Division Championship series. Playing in front of 6,242 raucous fans, the Sockers cruised to a 9-4 win at the Valley View Casino Center.

The Ontario Fury rattled off 5 wins to slip into the playoffs, but face another mighty task in overcoming the 1-0 series deficit. Former Sockers forward Nick Perera will be looking for some revenge against his former team.

The Sockers are 3-0 this season against the Fury and need another win to secure a spot in the Conference Championship. Star forward Kraig Chiles broke the Sockers All-time scoring record in Ontario last time by scoring his 299th and 300th career goals. He now has scored 40 goals this season, his 6th straight season with 35+ goals in a season.

Goalkeeper Chris Toth leads the defense for the Sockers with his 188 saves on the season and his incredible .815 Save Percentage. Toth is also only allowing 3.66 goals per game.

Sockers midfielder Luan Sales Oliveira has been on fire lately, scoring 7 goals in his last 3 games. He is joined by an on-form midfielders Matt Clare, Max Touloute and Brandon Escoto in creating goal scoring opportunities. Forwards Erick Tovar and Anthony Medina have also been solid contributors over the last few weeks of the season.

If the Sockers win the 2nd playoff game then they will face MASL Regular Season champions Soles de Sonora. The home game is scheduled for March 19th – 5:05pm at the Valley View Casino Center. However, the Sockers must win against Ontario Fury tonight!
