Sockers To Honor Teachers Of The Year On Sunday

The San Diego Sockers today announced that the team will honor San Diego County’s best educators in a special halftime ceremony on Sunday, April 24 at Pechanga Arena. The ceremony, which will take place at halftime of the Sockers’ 5:05pm Ron Newman Cup Playoffs semifinal match against Chihuahua Savage, will bring together San Diego County district and county Teachers of the Year from various districts around the county.

“We are thrilled to welcome to our match those who have been honored as the top educators in the county,” said Sockers general manager Sean Bowers, “Teachers are one of the most overworked and under-appreciated working groups in our culture. It’s the least we can do to open our doors to honor them.”

All San Diego County district and county Teachers of the Year have been contacted with the opportunity to receive four (4) corner loge tickets to the semifinals for themselves and their friends/family, with additional corner loge seats purchased at a 50% discount from normal playoff pricing. In addition, each teacher is receiving complimentary parking and will be honored in a special halftime ceremony.

District awardees are encouraged to contact Ezra Burdette in the Sockers’ ticket office directly to RSVP via email, at ezra@sdsockers.com, or to call (866) 799-GOAL.
