Sockers Unveil Crossborder Third Kit

The San Diego Sockers have released their Crossborder/Transfronteriza Kits, to be worn as the club’s official third kit for the 2022-23 Major Arena Soccer League season. The Sockers will debut their new kits at the club’s next home match, on Sunday, January 8 when they host the Dallas Sidekicks for a 6:05pm kickoff at Pechanga Arena.

Created in collaboration between the Sockers, our supporters group Brewjos del 78 and Flite Sports, the Crossborder Kit features a black base with a blue Aztec calendar design on the front and back of the jersey top, along with the club’s 16-star crest on the left breast. The sleeves and shorts feature a Spanish tile design. Along the cuffs and down the side of the kit runs a blue and yellow trapezoidal design, evoking the patterns found throughout Chicano Park in San Diego.

“We are a border town, first and foremost, and this kit represents the best of our multicultural heritage in San Diego,” said Sockers Chief Marketing Officer Craig Elsten, “We worked for months behind the scenes to create a kit that our players will be proud to wear on either side of the border as we compete for a third straight Ron Newman Cup.”

Crossborder jersey tops will be sold to start exclusively at the Sockers merchandise stand inside Pechanga Arena on January 8, with limited quantities available. Any remaining inventory will be made available for online purchase at sdsockers.com starting on January 9. Those who miss out on the initial run will be able to pre-order a second run of the jerseys from January 16-31, expected to arrive by midseason. Season ticket members interested in purchasing the new jersey should plan to take advantage of their exclusive entry line into Pechanga Arena in order to be first in line when gates open at 5:05pm on January 8.
