Sockers2 Advance To M2 Cup Championship Weekend
Uziel Gonzalez's free-kick overtime golden goal gave the San Diego Sockers2 a 6-5 win over the RGV Barracudas in the Major Arena Soccer League2 West Division Final at Pechanga Arena. San Diego moves onto the M2 Cup Championship Weekend on April 8-10 in Muskegon, Michigan.
RGV, who forced overtime after scoring three consecutive goals in the fourth after trailing a 5-2 lead, had several chances in the extra period to win, but failed to tally. San Diego's game-winner came after RGV kicked the ball out of play giving the Sockers2 a free-kick at the top of the arc. With one strike, Gonzalez put it in the upper right corner for the win.
