Sockers2 Stop Express 10-3 To Remain Undefeated

The San Diego Sockers2 (3-0) scored five goals in each half to give them a 10-3 win over the visiting Turlock Cal Express on Sunday afternoon at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Leading the Sockers2 offensively was the club's top scorer Ismael Rojo (2-3=5), Rene Flores (3-1=4), and Alaberto Castellanos (2-1=3).

Goalkeeper Xavier Snaer-Williams, on loan from the first team,  made his first start for the Sockers2 and earned the win by making two saves on the three shots he faced. Yari Aguilar made five saves on seven shots in the second half in goal.

Short-handed Turlock (0-2), due to Covid, came to San Diego after losing 10-2 Saturday in Ontario. Forward Armando Fernandez was the bright spot for Turlock by scoring one goal and two assists.

San Diego won all three games in the team's season-opening homestand. The Sockers2 will play two road matches next weekend traveling to Turlock on Friday to meet the Express again for a 7:00pm start, followed by a game in Ontario on Sunday, 3:00pm kickoff.
