The Quest For 15 Begins As Training Camps Opens

The San Diego Sockers' Quest For 15 began on October 20 at the Ecke Family YMCA in Encinitas. Twenty-six players trained for an hour on a brisk and overcast morning. The training camp roster is full of experienced players, who were with the team or other MASL teams last season.

"With the talent we have on the team,  training camp should be very competitive and spirited," said Sockers General Manager Sean Bowers. "The standard of play in the MASL is at an all-time high, so we are fortunate to have depth at every position as we challenge for a championship."

The Sockers will play one preseason game on October 29, 3:00 p.m. in Ontario against Fury. The season begins on November 2 on the road in El Paso. The home opener is set for November 5, 5:05 p.m. at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. The team will be hosting Cancer Awareness Night and the first 3,000 supporters will receive a free magnet schedule. Single game tickets and season memberships are on sale now at axs.com, Valley View Casino or by calling 866-799-GOAL (4625). Parking is always free on game days.
